Meet the Ladies

December 23, 2008

We just recently added 13 new ladies to our household. A bakers dozen of laying hens. They aren’t really cuddly yet, but still friendly enough for chickens 🙂

We have even got our first egg from them! Exciting!

Gingerbread Toolbox

December 22, 2008

I recently participated in a secret santa exchange and drew the name of someone who has everything! He is constantly building new things so decided a new toolbox would be in order. However I didn’t want to give just any toolbox, so I made one out of gingerbread, then cut out some tools from honey cake…

Christmas Quilts Are Finished

December 16, 2008

I have just finished two quilts that I was asked to make in time for Chirstmas.

One is made with the theme of the sky in mind – I call it Northern Lights as it reminds me of the waves they create.

The other one is based on the blocks used in the quilts along the Underground Railroad.  I have named it Hidden Signs – as that is what they were.

They will make wonderful Christmas presents and will be going off their new home soon!
